Final Thoughts of Mortal MindsHe was starring up at the ceiling. Ravenier de Corbeau had long forgotten what it was like to dream, for dreams meant sleep, and he knew all too well that soon he would sleep forever. To sleep now was pointless, for nights were filled with cold sweat and cries of pain. The room felt like a pot of stew that was slowly cooking him for some great meal, and Ravenier laughed to think of all the times he’d not pitied what he cooked. ‘So this is what it feels like’, he thought to himself.
